ABOUT

What is a blacksmith?

A blacksmith in the natural realm is a skilled craftsman who creates instruments, tools and weapons for others to use.

A blacksmith in the spiritual realm is likened to the blacksmith in the natural realm by creating instruments, tools and weapons for others to use in spiritual warfare!

A blacksmith in the natural realm creates his craft in unseen places. The environment is hot, and intense, pounding on steel and iron, until the tool or weapon is formed. Heat is used to remove impurities in the metal. The blacksmith uses water to cool the metal and harden. The finished product is an unbreakable weapon!

The blacksmith in the spiritual realm works in the unseen place of prayer. Interceding and watching in prayer for others becomes hot and intense! Teaching the word of God and releasing prophetic words strengthens and solidifies the believer into an unbreakable place!

“Behold, I have created the blacksmith

Who blows the coals in the fire,

Who brings forth an instrument for his work;” Isaiah 54:16

HOW WE STARTED

Blacksmith Ministries values the supernatural presence of God above all else. The presence of God changes people. Richard Wilson, the founder of Blacksmith Ministries, had a radical encounter with Jesus in 2009 that changed his life! His adult life had been full of compromise and sin cycles that were changed in one moment! In July 2011, at a Ramp School of Ministry summer intensive in Hamilton, Alabama, Richard had another radical encounter with the presence of Jesus that changed the direction of his life.

WHY WE EXIST

We exist for two reasons:

1. To raise up other blacksmiths who will watch, pray and intercede in the secret place of prayer on the behalf of others - our families, our churches and our cities!

2. To encourage the local church through prayer, teaching and prophetic ministry.

Now there was no blacksmith to be found throughout all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, “Lest the Hebrews make swords or spears.”

1 Samuel 13:19

NO BLACKSMITHS

= NO WEAPONS

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,”

2 Corinthians 10:4-5
